10 Ways Real People Earn Real Money While Traveling The World + Don’t Miss Our Live Webinar!

Tis’ the season to be jolly. For some that means Christmas (which does, in fact, make me quite jolly), but here at Live Your Legend, I get a skip in my step every May because it means I get to talk travel… one of my all time greatest passions!

I’ve written about it in the past but, in short, no single thing in life has ever taught me more about myself, and the world around me, than travel. And I know some people have serious beliefs around travel that limit them from what is really possible. Which is why I hold a webinar with my friend and travel guru, Travis Sherry to give you real life examples of what is possible!

That webinar will happen next week: Thursday, May 31 at 10:00am PST/1:00pm EST/17:00 GMT

Despite what some might think (I know I used to think the same!) traveling doesn’t have to be:

1. Expensive (it can be, but it doesn’t have to be), and

2. It is not only for people without ‘real jobs.’

When we believe thoughts like that (↑) they become our reality!

Which is why I get a little giddy every May, because Travis is an expert when it comes to travel. He is co-founder of The Paradise Pack, has traveled to over 50 countries, ridden camels in the desert in India, scuba dived on the Great Barrier Reef, and drunk (lots of) wine in Tuscany – all made possible by the fact that he flies anywhere in the world for under $100.

He’s figured out how to run his six-figure online businesses successfully from a beachfront bungalow in Thailand, an inn in Prague, the rice fields of Bali, a farmhouse in Florence and how to run it unsuccessfully from the internet-deprived country of Myanmar.

But most importantly, Travis has taught me personally to do the same. I’ll reach my 50-country mark this year, having traveled mostly on points for the past 7 years. I have flown first class on one of the world’s longest flights (17 hours from Delhi to SFO) paying nothing but minimal taxes. I lived in Italy for two months for under $200. I have made double my normal monthly income while traveling Thailand for a month. And Travis is the person that got me started on that journey. Over the years, he’s become a friend, but he started as my travel guru, which is why I love sharing his expertise with all of you. 🙂

I’ll send you a little reminder next week but to cover one of those limiting beliefs, Travis has been kind enough to share 10 real jobs from real people that allow them to earn money while traveling the world.

I wanted to give you a nice summary of Travis’ wise words but if you want access to the full 30 page download, with the complete real-life stories from people doing each of these jobs, including how they went from where they were to where they are, start up costs, etc., you can sign up here. While I think the information and inspiration packed into that document is totally worth it, in order to get the download you will be asked to share your email, which is why I am summarizing below.

So without further ado, here’s 10 ways real people earn money while traveling the world.

10 Ways Real People Earn Real Money While Traveling The World

1. Virtually Assisting
A virtual assistant (VA) is someone who helps a business with anything it might need help with, but remotely. VAs do everything from data transcription and email management to project management and podcast management.

2. Copywriting
Copywriting means writing for a purpose or benefit; it often means writing to persuade, convince, or sell, but copywriters have created all kinds of niches that allow them to copywrite in areas they care about.

3. Coaching
Coach is a word that is thrown around a lot these days (and admittedly, I do think if you are going to work with a coach, it’s best to go with someone who has some real experience in their area of coaching). But many coaches work in areas such as health, life, business, etc., and focus on adding value to their clients in these areas.

4. Niche Websites
Niche sites are websites that are focused on very specific topics, like cycling in Tampa or luxury hotels in Latin America. They contain a lot of content, often in the form of blog posts, that makes them rank highly in search engines, so that a lot of interested people find them. Niche sites can generate income in a variety of ways, including affiliate marketing, advertising, ebooks, physical books, products, and courses.

5. Art
The Internet has created a wide array of opportunities for artists because of things like Etsy and other online shops. You can even add in other income streams, by teaming up with manufacturing websites to print your artwork on everything from cell phone cases to leggings. A quick Google or Pinterest search will help you find out what’s currently selling in the area you have skills or ideas.

6. Affiliate Marketing
If you want to start an affiliate marketing business, your priority should be producing valuable content for your audience. Best not to promote anything and everything, rather only products you use yourself and believe in. This type of business is all about trust between you, your audience, and the businesses you promote. Many people can make a living through affiliate commissions if your readers buy through the links you send.

7. Selling Physical Products
There’s a business model through Amazon where you can add labels and send the products to Amazon’s warehouses. Whenever someone buys one of your products on Amazon, Amazon sends it out for you!

8. Drop Shipping
Drop shipping involves selling physical products without ever needing to touch them. By becoming an authorized dealer for the manufacturer, you can sell the product from your website and have the manufacturer ship it straight to the customer and you get a cut of the sale.

9. A Productized Service
The example Travis gives in his guide is from Ben, who runs a podcast services company that offers podcast setup and ongoing services such as editing, show notes, and social media scheduling. A new podcaster could go to Ben’s website, buy the Podcast Launch Program, and have their new podcast delivered to them within twelve hours, as if it were a product they were buying, not a service.

10. Business Brokerage
In short, a business broker basically buys and sells online businesses.

If you feel out of options, you’re likely just in need of a little creativity, because creativity, naturally, creates more options. 🙂 So, I hope these 10 ideas inspire you to realize there are many ways out there to design a life that suits you, whatever that may look like for you…

That’s all I’ve got for now but be sure to tune in next week to hear:

1. How both Travis and I have learned how to to travel more for less

2. How we (and MANY others!) have built businesses that allow us to work from anywhere in the world, and,

3. Many more inspiring ways to help you do so!
